PET leader tape is a functional traction material made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film as the core raw material through precision die-cutting processes. It is mainly used in precision manufacturing scenarios such as semiconductor chip packaging and is a key auxiliary component in reel traction systems, featuring both performance stability and cost advantages.

Application:

Designed specifically for the front-end traction of semiconductor chip packaging reels, it is particularly suitable for the "strip chip packaging" process — during mass chip packaging, the guide tape can drive the reel to accurately transport the chip carrier, ensuring that the chips do not shift or get damaged during transmission, and guaranteeing the continuity and stability of the packaging process.

Differences from Other Material leader tape

Compared with PI (Polyimide), PEI (Polyetherimide), and epoxy glass material leader tape, the core advantage of PET leader tape is that they offer a higher cost-performance ratio (significantly lower in price than the above-mentioned material models), and can fully meet the performance requirements in common chip packaging scenarios, making them the mainstream choice for medium and low-strength traction needs; while materials such as PI/PEI are more suitable for special packaging scenarios with extremely high requirements for heat resistance and chemical resistance (such as extreme temperature processing environments).
